The first "acquaintance" was held in September of 2013 when the team of Panathinaikos landed in China and participated in various events in the cities of Foshan and Beijing and also played an exhibition game with the Foshan Long Lions.

Indeed the presence of Shang Ping, the first Chinese athlete who competed in the Euroleague, was the particular character of the team in 2013 tour.
Two years later, Panathinaikos will return to China this time under the THY Euroleague Basketball World Tour 2015 for two exciting games. They will face the Zhejiang Lions on September 28 in Hangzhou city and two days later they will come up against the Guangdong Tigers in the city Macau.
