Panathinaikos-Peristeri 69-65

Panathinaikos defeated Peristeri in a friendly game behind closed doors that took place on the 17th of October at the OAKA indoor stadium. The ”greens“ got to the win in spite of being deprived of the assistance of all 4 Batiste, Jasikevicius, Tsartsaris and Bogris.

Both teams went neck to neck in the first 12 minutes facing tip-off. Panathinaikos proved to have the upper hand next, getting up by 7 (39-32, 18’30’’), intermission finding standings at 39-33. Peristeri took control of matters as the clash recommenced enforcing pressure in backcourt that provided the opportunity to run the open field to easy buckets, allowing the visitors even to lead (47-53, 26’40’’), third quarter closing at 50-55.

Panathinaikos stepped back on the floor, in a whole new attitude for fourth quarter. It brought the pace up to its standards, ran, cleared off the glass, efforts that did not haste to show-up on the score board. The 33’ 58-56 leading score concluded in the final 69-65 winning score for the ”clover“.

*In casual attire, Costas Tsartsaris, Mike Batiste and Sarunas Jasikevicius sat out the game on the end of the bench. Tsartsaris was the birthday boy of the evening. Jasikevicius continued on his personal training schedule. Yorgos Bogris took part in the team’s warm-up, nevertheless was not thrown into battle by coach Obradovic, who chose to protect him since he is recovering from an ankle sprain.
