After the game against Kavala, Zeljko Obradovic did not have much to say and repeated inter alia that the Cup title is a goal for Panathinaikos.
In detail, the “clover’s” coach stressed: “We do not have much to say about the game tonight. Congratulations to my players on the way they dealt with the game and the way they played. As for Kavala, it was a difficult situation for them having to play two games two days apart and with just nine players. Also difficult was the situation that was created toward the end of the game with the two players who got expelled and sent to the locker-rooms. We are now playing in one more final for a title that always has been and continues each year being included in our goals.”
On his part, Kavala’s coach, Dimitris Priftis, expressed his thanks to Panathinaikos and the hospitality they offered them for as long as his team stayed in Athens. “It is difficult to handle two games in three days. We also had some problems that emerged here in Athens with Pasalic and Karathanasis. We had foul trouble and did not resist much during the game. Panathinaikos played on his level and treated us very seriously. We would like to thank Panathinaikos for the hospitality they returned to us. This is how it should generally be, with the teams helping each other. They accepted to have the game on Friday instead of Sunday in order to facilitate us not having to take another trip; they provided us with the main court and their dumbbells. Their hospitality was impeccable and we thank them. I repeat that it should be like that with all teams. Good luck to Panathinaikos both in Greece and Europe.”
