“Congratulations to Kolossos for its fair victory”

Things were simple for Zeljko Obradovic after the end of the game against Kolossos. The “clover’s” coach admitted that their opponent was better and did not look for excuses. “Congratulations to Kolossos for its fair victory and feistiness, as well as for its willpower and energy on the court. These are the elements they have been competing in games throughout the entire season. As Kostas said, unfortunately we were not focused. Our body was on the court, but our mind was not there with us too. Congratulations to the fans of both teams for the wonderful atmosphere they created in the arena.”On his turn, Kostas Kaimakoglou noted much along the same lines: “Congratulations to Kolossos. They deserved this victory. We did not do any of the things we had said. We had neither the energy nor the concentration. Forus, this was a very poor performance. In the second half we pressed a bit more in defense, brought the game onequal footing and got in the lead. But in the end we did not make it and we the players must consider how we played today, must think about what we need to correct, clear our minds, and go to the game on Monday to claim the victory and qualify to the championship finals.”

“Panathinaikos taught us valuable lessons”

Vassilis Fragkias said: “First of all, congratulations to the guys for fighting a tough fight today, but I also want to say a big thanks to Panathinaikos for teaching us two valuable lessons in Athens that sounded the alarm because we had been caught in inertia for too long. These are moments that god own in history, because this was a game we were not expecting to win. We did our duty for this season and won a game that no-one believed we would. On Monday we expect a totally different game. Tomorrow we will have a light practice session and Monday we will be back here. It will be an opportunity for the fans to come to the arena and watch a really nice game.” Kostas Harissis underlined that: “After two games in Athens where we were down by 40 points, we came here, got our energy out on the court, and it was a completely different game for us.We played better in defense, were more clear-headed, and I consider that with a little help from lady luck we achieved a great victory that, truth be told, no-one expected. Congratulations to Panathinaikos for its great course, but also congratulations to my teammates and coaches for achieving what we did today. We will now face each other again in the same place. Each victory this season has been unexpected, because this season we wanted to see where we stand. Throughout the entire season we did our job well; that is why we have had this course, culminated by tonight’s game, which was sort of the icing on the cake.”
