Aris-Panathinaikos 56-71

A very good third quarter was enough for Panathinaikos to prevail over Aris 71-56 at the “Alexandrio Melathro” indoor arena in game 1 of the BasketLeague OPAP.

Panathinaikos led by 7 early in the clash (4-11, 6’20’’).Aris tried to pick up the slack and crept up to 1(10-11, 7’45’’). The greens maintained their advantage all through the first half not once though managing to break away by a larger than 6 points cushion (17-23 at 15’40’’, 19-25 at 16’25’’), game going into recess score at 23-27.

The outbreak for Argyris Pedoulakis’ players came in the third quarter. Partial score for this period of time was 14-29. Panathinaikos was more effective in backcourt, enforced its pace entirely in offense and managed to establish great collaborations, Diamantidis and Tsartsaris guiding along the way, also getting very crucial aid from their teammates, result being the 23-27 score to flex to 29-48 (26’30’’). Third period rested at 37-56 while in fourth quarter the clover’s technical staff offered game time to all of its players. Skordilis, Xanthopoulos and Giannopoulos remained on the floor for quite some time, the ante was upped to a 24 point edge (42-66, 34’20’’) curtains to drop on court behind final game score 56-71.
