Pedoulakis: "We reserved some energy!"

At the press conference following the game Panathinaikos-KAOD at OAKA, Argyris Pedoulakis referred to the... energy management the team had to do, awaiting for the encounter against Lokomotiv Kuban, while speaking also about the problem that came up with Ramel Curry.

"Our primary goal is to divide the time, given the fact that we play a Euroleague game in 48 hours and it's essential to have energy. We faced a serious, balanced team. We weren't focused on the defensive end. It's something that makes sense, since we are preparing mostly for the game against Lokomotiv Kuban. It's something new to have two games in three days and it's something we have to face".

Pedoulakis was asked about Curry: "Curry is sick, he has fever and he is at the hospital. Tomorrow we'll see if he will be able to travel. Our goal is for him to be with us, but this is something that the doctors have the final say".

Nenad Markovic, coach of KAOD, stated: "First of all I would like to congratulate Panathinaikos and to wish the team good luck in Euroleague. We faced one of the best teams in Europe, but the 56 points Panathinaikos scored in the first half were just too many. We weren't as competitive as we could be in that period. Generally I am happy that nobody got injured. We had a lot of problems during the week with injuries. Now, we want to be ready for the next game against Ilissiakos, which is very important for us".

Shang Ping spoke on behalf of Panathinaikos' players: "We played well as a team. We try to correct our mistakes and to improve day by day. We made the shots we had to and we managed to get the win".

Stamatis Benas, representing the players of KAOD, noted: "We knew that we are facing one of the best teams in Europe. We had a lot of problems with injuries during the week. Our goal was be as competitive we could and we achieved our goal up to a point. Three finals await for us in Basket League OPAP and we have to think about them".
