The U-18 Panathinaikos team made a huge step towards conquering the U-18 ESKA championship title. It rallied Filathlitikos 69-40 in the packed-to-the-rim “Apostolos Nikolaidis” stadium to lead the finals’ series 2-to-1. If the U-18 clover team grasps the next encounter too (April 9, 21.45) at the Zofrafos indoor arena they will be crowned champions.
The clash was a derby up until the first few minutes of the second half. Panathinaikos after a good start started to lose ground and actually found itself trailing by 2 at the end of the first half (23-25). Second half of the game however was a whole different ball game. The Greens picked up the pace, found a great ally in three point range and rebounds, managing gradually to create an advantage. It is indicative that the partial score in the last quarter was 23-1 for Panathinaikos, team to finally prevail 69-40.
