Panathinaikos committed win 3 in 3 games in the U-19 Greek Championship, hosted in Patras at the “Panagia Alexiotissa” indoor arena, 91-40 versus Kastoria.
Both teams went neck and neck only for the first few minutes, but Panathinaikos D-upped next, exploited the more solutions it had to gradually break away from its rival. It led 24-11 in first quarter; the gap reached 19 points at half time (41-22), while in the second half of the encounter the Greens had first say. They upped the ante to step away even further from their opponents by 31 points (62-31), then to 44 (79-35), only for the clash to end 91-40 in favor of Panathinaikos.
The clover coach, Kostas Papadopoulos, stated: “We played against a team which brings out passion and its players give 100% on court. We began relaxed, but after we improved a great deal in defense. Mainly in the second half we pressured immensely and thus the advantage was formed. We now on look towards the next game against the essential home team, a good competitive one which will also have the stands on its side”.
