Fragkiskos Alvertis took the stand in front of the media as the coach of Panathinaikos for the first time today, at OAKA, before the practice.
"It's not a matter of if I am used to it or not. It's a tough time, but the team has to continue with the same goals and the same course. At this point me and my partners are here to steer the wheel and lead the team where we want it to get. I want to thank Argiris for everything he did for the team, because beside being a partner and the coach of the team, he is also a friend. We will try to keep the team going. We have no other option. We are fully aware of what we have to do and we have to show it on the court. No matter which my position is this is my home. I continue as the coach of the team at least until we lead the team where we want it to be"
Did he think it twice when the offer was made by the club? The answer came out without any hesitation: "The time was limited. If you think it twice, it means you don't believe it, that you have doubts. There is no doubt about what we want to do. We have great faith in the team and the players. No need to say many things. We are here to work and to get all the way to the end. Things happened too fast. The administration intends to keep the team in the highest level and we have the obligation to do it".
Regarding the elements he wants to add to the game of the team, he noted: "We all have certain things in our mind. Me and my partners. The issue is to manage to make it chronically, to give something extra to the team. The team has already many good elements and we will try to give something more, like maybe a little more speed and score".
Speaking about the game against Anadolu Efes, Alvertis said: "The time is limited but we don't have a choice. We are going to work and we are going to play this important game".
