Fragkiskos Alvertis and Ramel Curry spoke to the media about tomorrow's game against Unicaja Malaga (3/3, 21.00), for Euroleague, Top16, Day 23. The most important for Panathinaikos so far in the competition.
The coach of Panathinaikos, Fragkiskos Alvertis, was asked about the difficulty of the game, given its importance: "There are no easy games and we know it very well. We need to win. It's a very important game for us. Let's hope that we'll do whatever we can to make it to the play offs. I know that our fans will be on our side, they are always here for us, but we have to do our job too. We have to put on the court all the things we say in theory. Unicaja Malaga is a team who needs to get into its rhythm. They come with a full roster. They like to run, they have players that can damage you any given time. It's something that it was obvious in the first round and we have to be as serious as it gets on the floor".
Asked about Real Madrid and CSKA Moscow as opponents, Alvertis replied: "At this moment, we have no right thinking about that. Right now only the game against Unicaja Malaga is in our mind. After the game we'll see what we can say".
Panathinaikos scored 102 points against Kolossos and Alvertis was asked about that too: "We had the possibility to play well offensively and in the second half we managed to play well defensively too. I want to believe that we will find our id".
Ramel Curry stated about the game: "First of all we play at home. We know of the importance of the game. It's a big game for us and hopefully we are going to play our best game. At this point it's what we need and we'll see what happens. We are still working with the new coach. We are still in the process. We have a really good game plan that we need to execute. I think everybody know the importance right now. Coach has done a great job preparing us and we have to get out there on the floor and hopefully get a good win".
Asked about the 102 points Panathinaikos scored against Kolossos, Curry replied: "It was a good night. We had some guys that made some plays, our plays worked on the floor. What we want is to keep scoring, without forgetting our defense. Tomorrow in order to achieve our goal we have to play well in defense and offense too. I am looking forward to tomorrow's game".
Ramel Curry didn't want to name any names, when he was called to name the most dangerous player of Unicaja Malaga: "There is no one particular players on whom we are going to focus. They have a full roster and you have to be focused on 10-11 players and not on one player. It's tough to play against such teams".
