Panathinaikos BC announces the deal with Janis Blum for 1+1 month.
Blums (1.91m.) was born in April 20, 1982, is a Latvian professional basketball player who plays both guard positions and he serves as the captain of the Latvian national basketball team. He started his career with Broceni (1998-2001) and later continued to play in their successor Skonto (2001-2003). In 2003, he signed with Polish club Anwil Włocławek (2003-2004), where he spent one season before returning to Latvia, where he joined BK Ventspils. After two years in Ventspils (2004-2006), Blūms joined Lithuanian BC Lietuvos Rytas (2006-2007). In 2007, Blums accepted offer from Italian side Eldo Napoli (2007-2008). In 2008, Blums signed a contract with Bilbao Basket (2008-2012) of Spain's ACB League. In 2012 he moved back to Lietuvos Rytas (2012-2013), which played Euroleague that season. In July 2013, Blums signed a one-year contract with BC Astana.
