Dimitris Diamantidis, Nick Calathes and Sasha Pavlovic made statements to the press in the first assemble of Panathinaikos for the 2015-2016 season.
Dimitris Diamantidis:
“It's a new season, several new players have come and also a new coach. It is going to be difficult in the beginning.. Every time there are some changes in the team and the coach you have to try to adapt to the new style of play.
We are expecting the young players to play to help the team and I think they will make it. From our side we must help and protect these young guys.
I do not want to answer right now about our goals. I can see players who will help us and a coach who has shown his job with the national team. Our goal is the team to be as ready for the first official match of the season”.
Nick Calathes:
“I am honored to be here, in one of the best and most historic teams in Europe ever. We have a very good team, I think we will manage something good this year. It is beautiful to live in Athens, I am glad to be back in Greece. I like where I am, I am glad and happy that I'm in Greece but also in Panathinaikos.
I'm a different player compared to the past. I have faith in my capabilities. A new season is coming, we have good players and we will create a fairly good team. I think the coach knows the right way.
Diamantidis is one of the best basketball players that played the game in Europe. He is a great player. Top! I do not think he will stop at the end of the season, he have a lot of years to play more”.
Sasha Pavlovic:
“Panathinaikos is huge opportunity for me. Huge club. One of the largest in Europe. Djordjevic is one of the reasons I came, the fans is the other, but the main is the goals we have. We want to win as many games to achieve our goals.
Djordjevic, the Kuzmic and Raduljica will help me to adapt to the team, though all my teammates here were greeted very nicely and already feel like I'm home. I feel great to be here. I want to play our best, especially in offence, but I will do what my ask will ask.
Expectations for Panathinaikos are always very high, we will work hard to succeed, and I believe we can go to the Final 4. I will play as hard as I can and I will do everything not to disappoint our fans, I know what they are expecting from us. They are the best in Europe”.
