The documentary film about Dimitris Diamantidis’ life and basketball career, titled Dimitris Diamantidis: THE PANATHINAIKOS LEG3ND, premiered on June 9 at a northern Athens suburb cinema. Panathinaikos board members and staff, many basketball players and coaches, and, of course, Dimitris Diamantidis with his family attended the premiere.
This documentary film is only the beginning of a series of events that will take place in honour of Dimitris Diamantidis and his contribution to the club and the Greek sports in general, ending with his No. 13 jersey retirement in Autumn.
According to Panathinaikos BC CEO Panayotis Triandopoulos, Dimitris Diamantidis is the proof that an athlete–––and a professional in general–––cannot go far only with their talent. Team spirit, altruism, and personal integrity are key to success, and these virtues have made Dimitris Diamantidis a role model as a player and personality.
