For the third consecutive year, Panathinaikos BC Superfoods has linked with the Juvenile Detention in Corinthos for Euroleague’s CSR program “One Team” - Basketball is Everywhere.
The Legend of Panathinaikos Superfoods and Director of PAO BC Academy, Fragiskos Alvertis visited Corinthos, played basketball with the inmates (aged 15-18) and mostly inspired all for cooperation and teamwork.
The children's enthusiasm was even greater when Fragiskos Alvertis played basketball with them and taught them the secrets of shooting. Overall, young prisoners willingly participated in the program and renewed the session with the team next week.
It is an honour and a blessing for me to be here. I am very happy for the project Basketball is Everywhere, and for the initiative of Panathinaikos. It is a great idea. Playing basketball and discussing with the kids about various topics that gives them inspiration, hope and strength to try and escape from their surroundings that have led them to where they are and to avoid situations that are bad for them and for them to make better decisions when growing up. The most important factor in life is to think before we act out in order to make the best decision. I believe that this specific program changes us as well, thinking about many issues more deeply, and becoming better people, it is a great experience."
