Panathinaikos has landed in Spain. Tomorrow the greens will face Laboral Kutxa (29/11, 21.30) for Euroleague Day 7.
Argyris Pedoulakis stated: "Our goal is always to win. The difference between the first game and now is that Laboral Kutxa is stronger, has found its rhythm and the team gets the desired results. What troubles us are the injuries of Lasme and Ukic. Lasme has an injury that is probably more serious than we thought. Ukic basically is out. He will travel although he hasn't really practiced and that's an issue for the team. We don't know how we are going to be, but nevertheless we are obliged to get stronger in order to claim he victory. We have to control the rhythm. Laboral Kutxa is a team which prefers to play fast and to get open shots through a fast pace. We have to rotate the guards carefully, in order to get to the fourth quarter without being tired. We have found our rhythm, but Lasme's injury have us worried. He tried to practice on Tuesday, but he was in pain and he stopped practicing. We are told that he may have to be out for 15 days in order to be 100% ready. It's a big problem for us. The other big issue has to do with Ukic. He cannot practice. If you see him after a game, he cannot even walk. He tried to find his rhythm from game to game".
N. Pappas: "Everything is in our hands"
Nikos Pappas noted: "We have a big motive just by looking at the classification. But it's also important for us to perform better than we did so far and to show that in the future we'll be better in order to achieve our goals. In every practice, in every game the team will be better and we'll see where it's going to lead us. I wasn't in the team last year, so I don't know how the atmosphere was. The truth is that the fans don't like some things, but we know that we are on the right path. The team improves and it will continue to improve, going all the way on claiming titles. When you play away things are totally different. Against Lietuvos Rytas we had a really good second half. We showed how we want to play in all games. Laboral Kutxa had many problems in the first round. They will be much stronger now playing at home, with their fans on their side. We 'll fight ready to give our best. I don't know all the scenarios and classifications by heart. What's in our mind is how to win all the games. If we do this, everything is in our hands..."
