adidas and Euroleague Basketball together for yet another two years

Euroleague Basketball and adidas announced expanding their collaboration for the next two years, including the 2015 season, in a Press conference held at the OAKA. The Press conference was attended by Kimon Stefos for Euroleague (Euroleague Basketball Business Development Senior Manager), Marianna Rempapi (adidas Brand Director, South East Europe), Dimitris Diamantidis and Mike Bramos from Panathinaikos as also Dogus Balbay from Anadolu Efes.

The Euroleague Basketball representative, Kimon Stefos took the floor first:

“First of all I would like to thank all media and personalities attending this press conference and Panathinaikos Athens for being such a great hosts and Anadolu Efes Istanbul for their collaboration.

We are really happy and proud to announce that adidas will be our partner for the next two seasons, 2013-14 and 2014 – 2015. Adidas becomes the Official Technical Provider for Euroleague Basketball and official sponsor of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four.

Our relationship with adidas started last year as we partnered during the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in London developing several successful activities like the adidas Trophy Tour or the Fan Zone 3 on 3 and the natural process was to go one step forward with our collaboration.

We consider adidas not only a technical provider but a partner who will help us in fully taking advantage of any commercial opportunity tied into the use of our brands. Their wealth of experience in a field where this league needs to grow makes this a very important relationship when looking towards the future.

I would also like to highlight that this partnership together with the ones subscribed with Spalding or 2K are the result of bringing our commercial partners the opportunity to communicate and build their stories around Euroleague Basketball but also around the brands of our 24 clubs all under one umbrella. This combination of relevant local and global brands brings our partners a vast range of opportunities”. The adidas representative, Marianna Rempapi spoke next: “Welcome to today’s Press conference. We are extremely pleased in the expansion of our collaboration with the Euroleague Basketball family. Euroleague’s goal for a stable development and the evolution of basketball is aligned perfectly with our vision, which tends to the needs of the greats. Ever since our collaboration last year at the London Final 4 we were certain that we would be continuing together. To us it is extremely important that we are currently working closely together with two of the top basketball organizations from both sides of the Atlantic. We thoroughly hope that this partnership will further enhance the enthusiasm and the passion of the European fans for the sport”.

From his point of view, Dimitris Diamantidis noted: “I would also like to wave this partnership. adidas is a great company worldwide and it is a joyous circumstance that it should be in the basketball area. It is yet another reason for which I have been collaborating with this specific company for many years now. I hope that this collaboration also lasts for years to come”.

The Panathinaikos forward, Mike Bramos, stated: “I also believe that this collaboration will aid towards advertising the sport. They are two companies which are at the highest of levels and this partnership will benefit both parties”.

Finally, the Anadolu Efes player, Dogus Balbay, underlined: “I am very happy to be here. These are two truly exceptional companies and their partnership is extremely significant. I would like to greet this collaboration and congratulate both sides for reaching it. Also, I would like to wish the best of luck to both sides”.

The partnership offers adidas the prerogative of commercial promotion during the TV broadcasts but also inside the court during the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Game Of The Week. Moreover it will be the official sponsor of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final 4, during which it will maintain exclusive rights on creating all official attire.
