Ataman: "We are here to win"

The Panathinaikos AKTOR squad has arrived in Crete for the OPAP Final 8 of the Greek Men's Cup, with head coach Ergin Ataman speaking to reporters on the eve of the quarter-final clash against Peristeri Domino’s.

Ataman's Statements:

"We approach every game the same way, so for us, it doesn’t matter if it’s in the EuroLeague, the Cup, or the domestic league. We have played many games this season, and tomorrow will be another one. We will try to play our way and win.

We are here to win. If we lift the Cup after playing three games, it will be something special for me. In the EuroLeague over the past two years, we have won around 40-41 games, in the domestic league we have secured over 30 victories, and we have won in quarter-finals, semi-finals, finals, and best-of-five series. Of course, we want to win all three games here as well. If we don’t, that’s okay. The Cup is not our primary objective. But we are here to win".

When asked whether Panathinaikos AKTOR is currently active in the transfer market, he responded:
"At the moment, we are not in the market. We are only focused on the Cup. There may be some offers from agents, but right now, there’s nothing on my mind".

Osman: "We will be ready"

On his part, Cedi Osman stated:

"I feel great to be here. Obviously, I’m very happy to have the opportunity to win my first trophy with the team. Everyone is in great spirits, and we all share the same goal: to win the Cup. We will be ready.

Every game is important, and you have to stay focused. We are taking it game by game, day by day. Tomorrow, we have a tough match against Peristeri Domino’s, a team we faced just a few days ago. We need to be very aggressive to get the job done.

We all know that when you're playing for a trophy, every match matters. Our main objective right now is to win the Cup".
