Panathinaikos BC celebrates the 10th season of its active participation in Euroleague’s "One Team" Corporate Social Responsibility program, through its cooperation with Special Olympics Hellas under the umbrella of "Basketball is Everywhere".
Guided by its long-standing support for people with intellectual disabilities, Panathinaikos BC sets as the main goal of this season's program not only to help athletes recognize their strengths and realize their potential, both in basketball and as members of society, but also to promote their inclusion. At the same time, from this season on female athletes of the Special Olympics Hellas team will also participate in the program, which strengthens our effort to promote gender equality.
One Team Ambassadors of Panathinaikos BC, Kostas Sloukas and Kostas Antetokounmpo, along with the active participation of all our athletes, have undertaken the mission to pass on the secrets of basketball and the values of sports to the Special Olympics Hellas team.
The second training session held at the OAKA facilities was attended by Luca Vildoza, who spoke to the participants about the importance of respect and teamwork in sports. The young athletes had the opportunity to chat and take pictures with him.

Special Olympics Hellas, the National Program of Special Olympics International, was founded in 1988 and offers, completely free, opportunities in participating in games and sports programs to 6 million people with mental disabilities in over 190 countries. For 35 years, Special Olympics Hellas has been continuously active with its absolute priority to defend and promote the rights of people with mental disabilities in sports. Through educational and cultural programs, Special Olympics Hellas raises awareness about mental disability in society, with the aim of integrating people with mental disability in all sectors of society, as well as highlighting the voluntary movement in our country.
