The "Tip-Off" of ONE TEAM Practices for the 2024/2025 Season

Panathinaikos BC AKTOR marks its 11th year of participation in the EuroLeague's CSR program, ONE TEAM, and for the 4th consecutive season, proudly hosts Special Olympics Hellas.

The first session for the 2024/2025 season took place on Monday afternoon (04/11), with the motto #WeAreAllOneTeam resonating throughout the auxiliary halls of OAKA stadium.

Juancho Hernangomez, who won the award of the best ONE TEAM Ambassador last season, now shares ambassadorial duties with Dimitris Moraitis. Along with the active participation of all athletes, they have undertaken the mission of passing on the "secrets" of basketball and the values of sportsmanship to the Special Olympics Hellas team. At this first meeting, the team’s coach, Artemis Panagi, warmly welcomed everyone and wished the athletes, coaches, and volunteers a productive and fulfilling season.

Participants received their new, program-specific t-shirts and tried out new activities and interactive exercises. These activities were led by Juancho Hernangomez and Dimitris Moraitis, who enthusiastically kicked off this season’s meetings and performed the initial "tip-off."

Guided by its longstanding support for people with intellectual disabilities, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR aims to help participants recognize their strengths and potential, both as athletes and as active members of society. With a focus on preparing them for future employment opportunities, the team strives to contribute to their integration by offering them valuable experiences.

This 2024/25 season will also see greater participation from female athletes on the Special Olympics Hellas team, a development that supports our ongoing efforts to promote gender equality.
