Anadolu Efes-Panathinaikos 60-65 (OT)

Panathinaikos got an important win at Turkey. Alvertis made his coaching debut a successful one as Panathinaikos pulled out a 60-65 overtime road win against Anadolu Efes for Euroleague, Top16, Round 10.

Fotsis and Ukic opened the game with a 0-5 (2') for Panathinaikos, with the greens leading to 3-9 (3'50''), behind four points by Dimitris Diamantidis. Anadolu Efes used a 7-0 run to lead to 10-9 (7'30''), before Lasme with a dunk made it a 10-11 (10'). Planinic drove coast to coast for lay up (12-11, 11'30'') and Panathinaikos replied with a 6-0 run (12-17, 13') with Wright and Lasme. The lead changed hands, Turks led by 5 (24-19, 17'), but Panathinaikos replied leading to 26-28 with Mike Batiste at halftime.

Jonas Maciulis made it a 28-31 (21'20'') game, but Anadolu Efes came back once more (37-31, 15'). Panathinaikos was decisive, cut the lead to one (39-38, 28') and made it a tie (42-42) with Mike Batiste, while Wright gave the greens back the lead (42-44, 30'). Roko Leni Ukic with a three point play made it 45-47 (32'), the Turks responded to 50-47 (34'35''). After a three pointer by Mike Bramos (50-50, 35'40''), Anadolu Efes replied (54-51). It was a tough two minutes till the end of the regulation. Jonas Maciulis was there to sank an off balance three-pointer 13 seconds to go to tie it. The hosts had the last possession, but Planinic was off on a jumper, as the game went into an extra session.

Gonlum scored a layup on the opening possession of the overtime, but Maciulis scored from close range for Panathinaikos, and Fotsis buried a triple to make it 58-59. Ukic split free throws, and Gonlum scored a put-back to tie the game at 56-56 entering the final minute. But Maciulis assisted Fotsis for a dunk-plus-free throw, before Diamantidis and Lasme each hit a hit a free throw to seal the deal.
