The most important for our team was the fact that it got what everyone wanted. Panathinaikos didn’t play well for 35 minutes, but in the last 5 the “greens” made their comeback and took the victory with 76-80 against Panionios. Now, the score in the semi finals is 2-0 and tomorrow Panathinaikos has the chance to win again in OAKA and take the ticket for the 2008 finals.
For our team Mike Batiste had 16 points, but the clue that gave Panathinaikos the victory was the inspiration of Zelimir Obradovic to play at the last period with 4 small players. The bigger trouble for the champions was Loney Baxter who had 23 points.
Panionios took the lead from the beginning and at the end of the first period the score was 29-18. A few minutes after, the score was 33-20, and the first half ended 40-31. In the third period Panathinaikos tried to make the difference (49-43), but Panionios was in charge. At the last period Zizic was excellent and Mike Batiste gave the lead to his team. At 37 minute the score was 67-71 for Panathinaikos, who managed to keep the control until the end of the game.
