Panathinaikos didn't perform well during the third quarter, the team committed turnovers in the fourth period and these are the reasons the team lost the game against Olympiacos at SEF according to the coach of the team, Fragkiskos Alvertis.
"It was overall a good game", Alvertis stated at the press conference, only to add: "We paid for our bad performance during the third quarter and our turnovers in the fourth quarter. This circle has closed for us. Now our mind is set to the games ahead. We have to see what went wrong especially in the fourth quarter in order to be able to correct things. You don't have the time to thing during the game. You have to be focused on what your team is doing on the floor. I came back to SEF as a coach after many years that I have been here as a player. We didn't do what we wanted to do, but I am satisfied. We gave our battle, we have good periods during the game. We'll keep all the good things and we'll talk about the bad ones".
Asked about Loukas Mavrokefalidis, he replied: "Given the problem we had with Lasme, he had more time on the floor. We know very well what Loukas can do and that's exactly what he did. It's not something special or unusual".
Finally, when he was asked about the atmosphere at SEF, he said: "These Euroleague games must be a guide for all of us. Let's home and wish that it will be like this in Basket League OPAP play offs too. The penalties are different in the two competitions. It's not my job to judge the system. Let's just all hope that the atmosphere will be like this during the Greek League's play offs too".
