Alvertis: These games can surprise you

Fragkiskos Alvertis and Ramel Curry were present at the press conference after the game Apollon P. - Panathinaikos and they spoke about the play offs and the two different faces of the Greens between the first and second half.

"Sometimes teams that are theoretically indifferent can surprise you. It's something that we know. If you are not focused since the tip off, you may find yourself in trouble. We didn't step on the floor they way we should have. We managed to balance the game in the second half. We found solutions in offense and the game ended the way it ended. And we have to continue getting in the play offs. We are working for the play offs and our main goal, which is the Basket League OPAP title. According the final standings we are facing Apollon Patras again in the first round of the play offs. We are happy to come back to Patras".

Regarding the difference in the way Panathinaikos performed between the first and the second half, Alvertis, stated: "We are working in certain parts of the game we want to bring on the floor. And if some plays work, the margin can grow bigger and the offense may feel more free".

Nikos Vetoulas (coach, Apollon P.) stated: "Coach Alvertis, said everything. We played well in the first half, we played with enthusiasm, we felt strong. In the second half Panathinaikos was more focused and serious, he didn't forgive our mistakes, they built a difference and grew a margin. We'll try to be more competitive in the play offs and if we can we 'll try to give time on the floor to some players, in order to see what we'll to next season. Each player can have a motive when he steps on the floor, against such teams as Panathinaikos, a team which prevails in Greek and European basketball. It's a matter of each player how he will react facing such a challenge".

Ramel Curry (player, Panathinaikos) thanked God for the victory and he added: "It was a good win for us, entering the play offs. We have to continue working in order to be better. I am happy for today's win. It's not easy to face the same team in back-to-back games. Getting into the play offs we will face Apollon again. What we want is to improve".

Curry was asked about his performance and the difference in the way Panathinaikos played between the first and the second half: "I am happy that I shot well, but what's important for me is the victory. This is what counts the most always. Regarding the difference in the way we performed, it's something that we do all season. We play better in the second half. It's the level of tension that grows. We have experienced players and they know how they have to play, what went wrong or what we did right in order to fix it and to move on".

Yannis Molfetas (player, Apollon P) stated "happy that Apollon reached the play offs for the second time in a row" and he added: "We played well in the first half, but it's difficult to maintain the same rhythm against good and big teams like Panathinaikos. In the second half Panathinaikos played better in defense, they got a bid lead and the game was over. We want to be more competitive heading to the play offs. And I would like to thank my coach for the chance he gave me today and I believe that I did the best possible to help my team. I wish Panathinaikos good luck".

**Panathinaikos didn't get tickets for the game officially, something it's a standard policy.
