“Healthy squad”

Coach Obradovic was pleased in his team’s performance. After the clash across form Armani Jeans Milano he stated: “All I spoke of last night about the encounter was performed this evening. We were very aggressive in defense, scored lots of points off the fast break whilst we played smart in a set offense even though it was hard for us, having Nicholas experiencing pain in the lower back… Anyhow, we competed well, congratulations to my players, we finished up at top spot of the group. We await Top16 draw. We thank the crowd for the great atmosphere they created, we will be needing it in the Top16 round” Obradovic stressed only to add regarding Nicholas’s situation: “The doctor will tell us. He is being treated twice a day. We shall see”.

Referring to Dimitris Diamantidis, after a relevant question, he spoke using flattering words for the team cap, saying: “We are all too familiar with Diamantidis’s quality. He is our most important players. He is a players who dishes the ball and loves to help the team, but this year it is imperative for him to score. I am very content with the way he has been competing up to date. And with the way the team has been competing. Any time we lost this year was either in OT of in the clutch at the buzzer. And we are also facing injuries. Before the beginning of the season everyone talked about how we would be, minus the three star players Pekovic-Spanoulis-Jasikevicius, the quality of all three a given fact. At the beginning of the year I had stated that I was pleased with the players on the team and the way we worked. It is mandatory that we keep up the hard work. The derby versus Olympiakos is up ahead in January but also the Top16 slightly later. My wish for the festive season is that we are a healthy squad. Without Batiste, Maric and Nicholas things are tougher. Another thing which is also essential is for us to compete totally focused and inputting 120% of our efforts”.

*The team is off until Sunday (boxing day) when it will start preparation for the encounter across from Aris for the Greek Cup.
