Obradovic: “I respect the fans who came to Milan”

Panathinaikos grabbed the coveted victory over Emporio Armani Milano in Italy. Zeljko Obradovic referred to the positive aspects of their performance, identified the negative ones, and made special reference to the clover fans that travelled to see the game.

“This victory over Armani was a very important first step for us in the Top16. We began the game well and this is something of great significance. Our defense was aggressive enough and we played the way we wanted to in order to stop their own game, but also put a stop to their creators. This is something that made me truly happy and was the key to winning the game. In the first half, we wanted to attack their zone but did not always make right choices and this is something that we must remedy. For the bigger part of the game we were focused in our defense, whereas in offence we need to improve, because we did not correctly identify some set-game situations… Congratulations to the players for the victory, but we must all understand that this was just one game; there are more games along the way. I would also like to add one more thing, though: a great thanks to the fans who travelled to Milan, because this was something very-very important for us. In all sincerity it is something I respect very much. I have the highest respect for them and thank them wholeheartedly!”
