According to what Zeljko Obradovic stated immediately after the end of the game against Maccabi in Tel Aviv the two teams had a good half apiece.
“Congratulations to Maccabi. It deserved to win and got the victory fair and square. They began the game far more aggressively than we did and I do not know the reason why we played like that. We played very poorly in the first half. We made way too many unforced turnovers. When you give a team like Maccabi the chance to take such a lead it is very difficult to return to the game. All that in the first half…” he said and then continued “…because I must congratulate my players for the second half. We had a very good reaction and showed that we knew what we had to do. We have had some good shots that did not go in, but this is basketball: if you do not score you lose. However, we showed in the second half that we know the way to win on Thursday. The fourth game will be a very difficult one both for us and for them.”
Zeljko Obradovic also answered a question regarding Nick Calathes’ performance. “I never talk about my decisions. I know my team better than anyone else. I am this team’s coach 24 hours a day every single day and do not care about anyone’s opinion. I am responsible for everything. I have played 27 finals and have won 23 titles. I am very satisfied with Calathes. He was one of our best players.” Toward the end he was asked about Ohayon’s performance and he replied: “Same as Thursday, Ohayon played very well and we have to see what we need to do to stop him. He played excellently.”
