Kolossos Rhodes-Panathinaikos 59-67

Panathinaikos paced its game, made big time shots and prevailed 67-59 over Kolossos Rhodes at the “Venetoklio”arena in Basket League OPAP game 12.

The Greens stepped out on the court aggressively, fed the ball close to the basket, drained three point shots behind Gist and Kapono and managed to lead (4-12, 3’48’’). The home team quested solutions, managed to pick up the trail and tie with its opponent (19-19 at 12’, 22-22 at 13’45’’). Panathinaikos regained the lead, not being able though to break away from its host, half-time resting at 30-34, Schortsanitis undertaking offensive initiatives.

The clover, supported by the crowd, which was dynamically present in the court, mounted a +7 lead at 24’44’’ (37-44) but lost the margin once more, gap actually closing to its smallest possible price (43-44, 27’20’’). Fourth quarter was improved for Panathinaikos. Good three point range from Jason Kapono alongside Gist and Ukic aided the clover to cruise to a 10 point cushion (48-58, 34’50’’) and then even more to +14 (52-66, 38’27’’), only for the game to end at final score 59-67.
