Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens extended its winning streak to five games by downing Unicaja Malaga 82-71 on Friday at home in the Greek capital. The win lifted Panathinaikos to 7-3 record and retained its share of third place, while Unicaja lost a fourth straight game, dropping to 3-7. The two teams traded blows for the first three quarters, before the hosts pulled away in the fourth behind Nick Calathes and Nikos Pappas, not to mention a barrage of triples. Unicaja had several leads in the second half, but Panathinaikos hit 7 of its 13 three-pointers in the fourth quarter to build a 10-point margin and get a hard-fought victory. James Gist starred with 17 points plus 11 rebounds, and Calathes had 16 points and 12 assists. K.C Rivers netter 15 points, and Pappas scored 10 of his 11 points in the final quarter. Nemanja Nedovic led Unicaja with 16 points, Carlos Suarez had 14 and Dragan Milosavljevic scored 12 in defeat.
