Panathinaikos OPAP Athens grabbed its third win of the EuroLeague season by downing Anadolu Efes Istanbul 86-70 at OAKA in the Greek capital on Thursday. Panathinaikos improved to 3-3 in the standings and Efes dropped to 4-2 as its four-game winning streak came to an end. Tyrese Rice led the winners with 18 points. Ioannis Papapetrou added 14, Nick Calathes and Jimmer Fredette scored 11 each and Georgios Papagiannis netted 10 for Panathinaikos. Calathes dished 10 assists and Papagiannis corraled 7 rebounds for the winners. Shane Larkin paced Efes with 28 points, Chris Singleton posted 13 points and 11 rebounds and Krunoslav Simon scored 11 points for the visitors. Efes led 51-54 midway through the fourth quarter but Rice and Papagiannis fueled a 17-1 run that gave Panathinaikos the lead and the victory.
