The way Panathinaikos performed for three quarters, satisfied the coach of the team, Argyris Pedoulakis, as he stated at the press conference after the game against AE Neas Kifissias.
"We wanted to use all the players today and share their time on the court. All around Europe and Greece with the new competition system it's difficult to have the teams ready. We were serious for 28 minutes and we managed to damage our opponents' passing game. They are really good in this part of the game. We found our rhythm through this defense and we run the court. In the second half everybody got his time on the court. But we also made some turnovers. The young players but understand that you cannot score by playing as an individual. You have to be committed to the team. This is what happened at the game against Apollon Patras and it troubles us. It's a matter of inexperience too. We have to learn from our mistakes in order to move on. Every day you have to improve. Overall we played well and it's something obvious just by the number of assists we had in the game. Now we are focusing on our next Euroleague game. I wish AE Neas Kiffissias all the best for the rest of the season".
Ramel Curry stated: "We can say that it was a game on our way to the important Euroleague game we have on Thursday. We played good in defense and we want to keep it up in the same rhythm in Basket League OPAP, but also in Euroleague".
Ilias Papatheodorou (coach, AENK): "Our goal this week was to be competitive. Panathinaikos was very serious especially in defense and they created problems to us, especially when we were trying to set our game. In the first half we played bad and we had just 21 points, something that had to with the way Panathinaikos was playing. When they enter the court serious, especially at OAKA, it's difficult for the opponent to respond. We said during the half time that we have to be more aggressive at the second half. This summed up by the rotation of Panathinaikos and the fact that they were a little bit more loose, we managed to improve our performance. We scored mostly on one on one situation, but overall it was important that we managed to get to the rhythm of the game at the end, presenting something better. Now, we have to focus on our next game. We want get back on the winning track in order to achieve our goal, by engaging a play off spot. I wish all the best to Panathinaikos and its coach, Argyris Pedoulakis. About Crocker, Anadolu Efes was interested in him, but we learned just before the game, that it no longer exists".
Spyros Diamantopoulos (player, AENK): "The big bet in games against big teams like Panathinaikos or Olympiacos is to be competitive. We became competitive when we realized where are we playing and which team we are facing. We didn't come here to lose. Panathinaikos won because it was better and more serious".
