Panathinaikos got the team wanted. They beat Olympiacos 66-62. This time for Euroleague and Top16, day 7 at OAKA.
The guests were the first to take the lead while the greens got the lead for the first time when 7-9 (5'53'') turned to 10-9 (6'15'') after a three point shot made by Roko Leni Ukic. The situation changed again, as it would change again and again during the game. Printezis was there for a 10-13 (7'10''), while Ukic, Dimitris Diamantidis and Mike Bramos combined for 17-13 (8'45''). Ramel Curry came to their assistance for a 19-15 (9'35''), while Stratos Perperoglou cut the deficit to the minimum (19-18, 10'). Once more the guests led the way to 21-23 (11'). Ukic with a floater made it 23-23, and he was the one, after Lasme's jumper, to up the lead to 27-23 (13'30''). Olympiacos managed an 8-0 run for a 27-31 (16'), but Panathinaikos doesn't quit. Everything changed once more, the Greens had their own 8-0 run to lead all the way to 35-31 (18'40''). The hosts kept their distance (37-33, 20'20''), but a four point play by Giorgos Printezis led to another tie (37-37, 21'08'') and his team led by 2 (37-39, 23'). Ukic with a three pointer from the corner led to +3 for Panathinaikos (42-39, 25'35''), but then again the guests were there to turn 42-45 (28'15'') to 47-47 (30'). They got the lead entering the fourth quarter, to get a +4 margin (55-59, 35'35''). Lasme stepped up to, Ukic was there to make it 59-59 (38'), while Lasme was present in defense too, blocking Sloukas' shot. Diamantidis got a foul. He was 1/2 from the line to make it a +1 game for Panathinaikos (62-61). Gist did the same things seconds later to make it a 2point game (63-61, 39'40''). Lojeski missed the shot, under Maciulis' pressure, Diamantidis was fouled with 3.4 seconds left. The captain made it 64-61. Perperoglou went to the line himself for 1/2 free throws (64-62, 2''1). The ball went to Lasme's hands, he drew a foul and he scored 2/2 free throws to seal the final 66-62.
