Panathinaikos BC with a sense of responsibility towards the fans of the team, but also with big respect to the ethics the club represents, wishes to inform on the following:
For days now, Panathinaikos BC, during negotiations with Nick Calathes was there to live up to all his demands. This happened after discussions and given our wish to meet to his demands, knowing how capable he is as an athlete. We reached an absolute identification in the course of negotiations.
For reasons unknown to us though, Nick Calathes hasn't signed yet, although we fully came to meet his demands. It's obvious that something else has occurred and it's something he knows. We, from our side, we did what we had to do but we are going to abandon our principles. We are not going to involve ourselves to a bidding competition with nobody and for nobody. Furthermore, since we covered everything he asked.
We wish to inform that the deadline given to Nick Calathes for days now, expires on Friday the 27th of June, 2014.
This is what we must do in order for the coach of the team to proceed with the roster of the team heading to the 2014-15 season.
