A meeting was held in Istanbul today regarding the THY Euroleague Final Four; in that meeting Panathinaikos was represented by Manos Papadopoulos. The four teams that have qualified to the last leg of the competition will each receive 1010 tickets.
An important part of the meeting was dedicated to security issues, attended by a multi-membered delegation of the Turkish police, including the commander of the Turkish police force. What was made crystal clear was that fans will deal with absolutely no problems what so ever and that the police will be polite to them. The same, however, will not stand for those of the fans that will attempt to break any laws. In those cases, the police will be strict. Controls will take place in three external zones upon approaching the arena, where there will also be checks conducted. Those who break the law will be immediately placed under arrest. Police will also set up ‘zones’ inside the arena. Furthermore, cars will also be prohibited from approaching the arena, with the exception of specially accredited vehicles. Finally, the Turkish police have decided to not allow interference by any sort of private police.
