The press conference ahead of tomorrow’s game (19/12, 22:00 local time) for the last round of the Euroleague regular season took place at OAKA this afternoon (18/12).
Panathinaikos head coach Dusko Ivanovic said: “We want to win independent of opponent; whether it is a top-class team, like Barcelona, or a second-class one. What we always do is only focus on the next match. Now it is Barcelona and we want to win.
“It is not clear yet whether Nelson will be able to play tomorrow. He has been training with the team, but it is not sure whether he will be in the lineup for the game.
“It is good for us that we have qualified to the next phase and we will play against a team that we will meet again in the TOP 16. Barcelona has some absences, but they have one of the best teams in Europe and that is what matters.”
Vassilis Charalambopoulos represented his teammates: “It is an indifferent match for our rank in the group. However, tomorrow we will play a very big European match; maybe the biggest in Europe. So we have an additional incentive to fight for the win that will bring an increase in prestige and will help us psychologically for the difficult games to come.”
***DeMarcus Nelson followed the normal training routine, while Dimitirs Diamantidis followed only a part of it and then received treatment, as did Lefteris Bochoridis.
