Stratos Perperoglou and Steven Smith were transferred to the Nikaia State General Hospital after the coachbus transporting Panathinaikos had been attacked by rocks thrown against it. The two players received head injuries by the rocks and broken glasses and as a result they were immediately transferred to the hospital. They were then subjected to detailed examination and the diagnosis mentioned they had sustained facial open rupturing traumas and were suffering from headaches and acute ocular pain. The hospital doctors treated the players’ injuries and administered antibiotics and therapeutic treatment to both of them. Both Stratos Perperoglou and Steven Smith will be re-examined in the following days by the Panathinaikos’ medical team in order to assess the course of their health.
