In June 1999 I was honored to receive an invitation from Zeljko Obradovic in order to work with him in Panathinaikos and I still, till today, feel the honor. He gave me the chance to improve not only as a coach but also as a person. The capping stone of this cooperation is a true and sincere professional and human relationship. Just a” THANK YOU” is rather poor to describe what I feel for him.
Through this letter I would like to express my gratitude and thankfulness to the whole Yiannakopoulos family for the cooperation we had all these 13 years. I thank them mainly for the trust which they offered me in real terms.
With no doubt a big “thank you” goes to all the players with whom I worked with all these 13 years, as well as all the members of Panathinaikos BC and the rest of the training staff.
I feel really very PROUD that I was an active member of this family in its glorious journey in the basketball arenas over the last 13 years. My decision today to end our cooperation is extremely difficult.
I would also like to thank all representatives of the written, television, radio and digital press for their honest and sincere cooperation.
Finally, I would like to salute and thank all the friends of Panathinaikos all over the world and let them know that I was extremely honored by their belief in me. I truly believe that we will meet again.
Besides, the reference to HISTORY is not just the memory of the past but interprets present and targets the future.
