Kostas Tsartsaris will remain in Panathinaikos for one more year, after reaching an agreement with the team.

His relationship with basketball began in GE Verias (1993-95), he moved to Filippos Verias (1995-97), he traveled all the way to Iceland playing for Grindavik (1997-98), before coming back to Greece for Near East (1998-2000). He moved to Peristeri (2000-02) and from there to Panathinaikos. He has also competed for the National Team of Greece reaching the gold medal in Eurobasket 2005 and the silver medal at the 2006 World Championship. He was voted best young player of the Greek League in 1999, he was member of the HEBA 1st team in 2004 and MVP of the Greek Cup Final in three occasions (2006, 2007, 2008).
Tsartsaris stated: “It’s what I wanted. For me it was a no brainer. I am glad that I remain a part of Panathinaikos family. The team restarts and I wanted to be a part of this new effort. My goal is to help the team as much as I can. A lot of things have changed in the team with the presence of Dimitris Giannakopoulos leading in the administration, but also in the roster and the coaching staff, with Argiris Pedoulakis taking over after 13 years with coach Zeljko Obradovic. I know Pedoulakis personally and I am sure that he is going to do the best possible for the team. I believe in him. It’s very important for us to have the support of the fans. They must understand that we are talking about a big effort in difficult times and everybody must be patient. They must know that our goal is to keep Panathinaikos in the elite of basketball. That’s one thing that doesn’t change”.
