Andy Panko was the first of Panathinaikos’ new transactions to reach Athens, in views of the team’s first assembly of the season, tomorrow.
Panko got to the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport slightly after 8:30h and made his first comments on… Greek soil as a Panathinaikos player: “I know all too well, to which team I have come to. Everyone knows Panathinaikos. I am excited about this contract of mine. I know that there are certain differences compared to prior seasons, many new faces exist but there is no reason to worry. There are still many good players, such as Diamantidis, the best point guard throughout Europe or Schortsanitis; only the NBA hosts players such as himself; you will find none other in Europe. We are pros and what we must do, is work altogether in order for Panathinaikos to remain in the top tier. Personally I have not a single doubt and when the offer came through, I knew exactly where it was, that I was to compete”.
