The Euroleague’s CSR program “One Team” - Basketball is Everywhere, where Panathinaikos BSA participates, continued the last two weeks in the Juvenile Detention at Corinthos.
DeMarkus Nelson and Vasilis Charalabopoulos visited Corinthos, played basketball with the inmates (aged 15-18) and mostly inspired all for cooperation and teamwork. Young guys participated willingly in the program and renewed the appointment with the team next week.
"It is an honor and a blessing for me to be here. I am very happy for the project Basketball is Everywhere, and for the initiative of Panathinaikos. This is indeed an excellent idea. Give hope to the children, to show them that there is a better life, there are many who have to live," said De Marcus Nelson , which is the official ambassador of the program. "
Vasilis Charalabopoulos stated: "Participate in recent years in all the project of One Team that makes our team, but this year's program Basketball is Everywhere is really special. We visit a place that personally I never play basketball. This program changes us and ourselves, thinking about many issues more deeply, we become better people, it is a great experience."
The young inmates had their first acquaintance with the program. Panathinaikos will participate with 7 players in eight weeks that will last.
Through its own program «Basketball is everywhere», the Panathinaikos rewards social sensitivity, the value of cooperation and passes multifaceted social messages.
