Basketball, kids and smiles coexisted today at the OAKA. Kids from the “Ark of the World” (Non governmental organization of Mother and Child special care and protection), in view of THY Euroleague’s ONE1TEAM program and Panathinaikos BC’s Company Social Responsibility program met up with Vassilis Xanthopoulos, Roko Leni Ukic andJason Kapono. The three players played with the kids and conversed having main reference point the basketball ball.
Jason Kapono admitted that such moments offer joy to the players: “The sentiments are always positive when you are around children. It’s nice to play basketball, to win, but it is also nice to be amongst children, to offer and receive. We hear, we learn too, share different situations having as common ground the very game of basketball. The ONE1TEAM Euroleague program does exactly that. We get together here, people with a different history, from all different countries, with different life experiences each but at the end of the day we are all parts of society and the question is to help one another so everyone’s life may improve”.
