The Greens in Germany

Panathinaikos is in Germany, where tomorrow (21.45, NovaSports3) it will be facing Brose Baskets in THY Euroleague Top16 Game 13. Victory in tomorrow’s encounter will officially send the clover to the league’s play-offs.

The Greens traveled without absences. They landed in Munich and are traveling by bus to Bamberg, where they will be training tonight at the same time as tomorrow’s encounter. The clover Head Coach, Argyris Pedoulakis stated: “It is a very important game for us, for two reasons. The first one is that Brose Baskets challenges the win up until the very end of every game. The second is that the win will officially advance us into the Euroleague play-offs. If we win we will have accomplished one of our goals. We are to face a team which plays aggressively, a very well structured team, which becomes dangerous if it gets to pace its opponent in its rhythm. We had an issue with Dimitris Diamantidis who has not trained with us since after the encounter versus Real Madrid. He had some discomfort in his foot but he will be with us. We have the experience to deal with this situation”.

Jonas Maciulis agreed with his coach as far as the game’s importance only to add: “It is a defining encounter for us; as it has been, all these last few weeks, to be honest. We know all too well that a win versus Brose Baskets will send us to the Euroleague play-offs. We also very well know though that it is not going to be an easy game. The mere fact that out opponents have not a single win in the Top16 up to date, must not make us drive the wrong conclusions. We know that we must do the best possible in order to get the result we need. We will have to be consistent for 40 minutes”.
