The president of Panathinaikos BC, Dimitris Giannakopoulos replied with a letter of his own to the President and CEO of THY Euroleague, Jordi Bertomeu, asking that Panathinaikos should be treated with respect.
"Mr President,
I have to express my concern, one more time, about the repeated incidents where my club, 6 times European champion, Panathinaikos, is treated by Euroleague referees with no respect.
These incidents have cast a negative light on the credibility of the sport we love.
I have made no statements the last few days, so what the media are publishing is something you should raise with the media in mention.
Of course I respect your request of taking all necessary organizational and security measures as I have done in all games from the beginning of the season when I became president of the team.
Last but not least I request from you that Panathinaikos, voted best club in Euroleague history, is treated with RESPECT from Euroleague referees.
Regards,
Dimitris Giannakopoulos
