Panathinaikos is only one step away from the Final Four. After getting a 2-1 lead in the series last night at OAKA, its quest is victory number 3 to lead it onto conquering its next goal. Game 4 in the Euroleague playoffs series versus Barcelona will be held tomorrow (April 18, 21.45) at the OAKA, arena which on yet another occasion will be packed to the rim.
Panathinaikos Head Coach, Argyris Pedoulakis, stated: “We have game 4 of the series ahead of us. We got the second win we sought yesterday but the most important result is in tomorrow’s encounter. We must perform even better; our mind must be 100% in the game. We are proud for all we have accomplished up to now, but on the other hand we have succeeded nothing yet. We need one more win in order to be able to state that we have achieved our goal. We know that the Panathinaikos friends will be next to us, as they were yesterday and that is something very important for all of us”.
The players seemed to share the exact same mindset, not even dwelling upon yesterday’s victory and already steering their attention on tomorrow, as James Gist would state: “It will be a very tough matchup. Barcelona is an exceptional team and just as in all other games I believe that this game also will be defined in the clutch in the last shot. We are coming up against a great team and tomorrow’s game is its last chance to stay alive in the series and transfer it back to Barcelona. So we know that we must battle hard to get the third win we need avoiding having to go on to a fifth game. We have our opportunity now… And all we must contemplate upon is tomorrow’s encounter and not what we did yesterday…”
