Last week another successful session was carried out as part of the CSR program of Euroleague «One Team» - Basketball is Everywhere, where Panathinaikos BC Superfoods participates for the third consecutive year.
Specifically, on Tuesday (4/4), the coach of PAO BC Academy Junior Varsity team, Giorgos Kalaitzis visited the Juvenile Detention Centre in Corinth and spent the evening playing basketball and chatting with the underage detainees (aged 15-18 years).
Mr. Kalaitzis taught the children the defense element of the game which he knows very well since it was his strong point. Although defense does not interest most children, Mr. Kalaitzis managed to excite them both in the way of training, but also with his words. "Defense and my involvement with basketball taught me to have patience. I learned to take a step back and think before doing anything. For all problems there is a solution that exists. It is necessary to take one minute to think before you do something," and continued:" Personally, when I was angry I would tie my shoelaces for one minute in order to let my frustration and anger pass and not do something that I will later on regret. Try to manage your anger whatever way you can, so that you do not do something that you will later on regret. "
Giorgos Kalaitzis was particularly happy with the contact he had with the children and finished by thanking them for their cooperation during the session and promised to visit again soon.
