The coach of Panathinaikos Superfoods, Xavi Pascual, said before the game against Barcelona Lassa:
"Of course, we know it is a difficult task to win in Barcelona. This season they built a tremendous roster, but we believe in ourselves and we will be ready to play a good game. I think if we play good defense and control our turnovers on offense, we will have chances to win. [We defeated Olympiacos] but you never know if that helps. According to my experiences it is actually opposite, because you start thinking you are more ready than the real situation. But what I have seen from the team until now, I think we are moving in the right direction and we will use that win to gain more confidence."
From its side, Chris Singleton stated: "It is a first game in EuroLeague, they have a whole new team, we made a lot of changes and I expect a good fight on both sides. We are focused on a game. It is a new start for everybody and everybody is hungry, I know I definitely am. I hope we will get a good start in the EuroLeague. If Barcelona is hungry, we have to be hungrier. Like I said, they made a lot of changes, they added a lot of key pieces, especially people with experience, and I think it will be a tough match. I played together with Kevin Seraphin with the Wizards, and a lot of their other players have played in the EuroLeague before. We might have seen them last season, or a year before, we have to take their characteristics, put them all together and play basketball."
