Panathinaikos hosted Apollon Patras at the OAKA in the first unofficial preseason clash of the year. Final score 74-58 was the least of the two teams coaches’ interests, since mostly they wanted to test the condition in which their players are in.
“What we wanted mostly was to check out the state in which we are in”, stressed Argyris Pedoulakis, who saw his players try to bring out on the floor all that they have been “taught” from the beginning of the training camp up to date. “Another significant fact is that such games break the monotony which certainly exists after constant training sessions. It is something immensely important to the players also”.
In the friendly game, Pedoulakis uses Diamantakos, Apostolidis, Curry, Batiste, Diamantidis, Pappas, Jankovic, Shang, Charalampopoulos and Skordilis while he also had Erebenanzie and Giouzelis from the U-18 team at his disposal.
From Appolon Patras the following competed: Niforras, Argyropoulos, Kaperonis, Nelson, Wilson, Lianos, Ikonomopoulos, Petrovic, Pelekoudas, Molfetas, Trepalovic and Bolds.
The team had one training session scheduled for tomorrow and two for Tuesday (September 10). On Wednesday (September 11), it will be departing for China.
