Green color to the draw and premiere at the SEF arena

The Basket League OPAP draw for the 2013-14 season took place today at the “Benaki Museum” featuring an ultimate derby at hello. The premiere for Panathinaikos will be committed at the “Stadium of Peace and Friendship” versus Olympiakos on October 12.

Panathinaikos was center stage of the Basket League OPAP 2013-14 season draw. It was honored as the 2012-13 season Champion while four of its players were amongst the best: Stephane Lasme, Dimitris Diamantidis, Nikos Pappas, Vladimiros Jankovic. Amongst the best, Argyris Pedoulakis also ranked, as coach of the year. All five were present, as also BC’s president, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, Katerina Giannakopoulou, Thanassis Giannakopoulos and the BC vice president, Manos Papadopoulos.

The award for the Champion title was received by the BC president, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, who then presented Stephane Lasme with his award, player to be named MVP of the season, best defender and to the all competition team. Katerina Giannakopoulou offered Dimitris Diamantidis his respective trophy as he was also named to the all competition team. Nikos Pappas received his distinction from Bane Prelevic. Vladimiros Jankovic (named to the all competition team and most improved player) was awarded by the Panionios BC president, Ilias Lianos.

The Panathinaikos BC president, Dimitris Giannakopoulos, stressed: “This award is Argyris’, Dimitris’ and the rest of the team’s. I thank you since your success is what allows me to be here today. I am sorry that the Olympiacos BC’s presidents are not here, because I would like to say that you should never speak of rope in the house of the hanged. I wish all a good season, with health worldwide, not only in sports but everywhere. Let us have a good year”.

The Panathinaikos Head Coach, Argyris Pedoulakis, stated: “In Panathinaikos we do not believe in personal achievements. We keep up the teamwork we did last season with the support of the administration and we aspire during the upcoming season to represent our country worthily abroad”.

Dimitris Diamantidis stated: “I would like to thank my teammates and our coaches, administration because we conquered the title all together. I wish a good championship and health to all”.

Nikos Pappas stressed: “Thank you for the honorable distinction, but also I would like to thank my teammates, my coaches and the fans. It is a great feeling to have your labor rewarded through this award. I wish health to all”.

Vladimiros Jankovic stated: “I wish a good championship and health to all and I would like to thank you for this honorable distinction”.

Stephane Lasme stated: “I would like to thank my teammates, my coaches and the Panathinaikos administration, because without them I would not be here today, to receive this significant award”.
