Pedoulakis: "A really important game"

Agryris Pedoulakis held a press conference today at OAKA, about tomorrow's game against Red Star (6/12, 21.30, NovaSports3). He spoke also about Nikos Pappas, Loukas Mavrokefalidis and Stephane Lasme.

"The game against Red Star is truly important. We have to win. We must win. We are facing a team which derives energy through its defense. They try to run, to go for the fastbreak for easy baskets or open three points shots. They find their rhythm through defense. In Belgrade we were "soft" during the first half. In the second half we were different, better and that performance must be our guide. In this level, after all the games we have already played, you don't have the luxury to change many things. Red Star fights till the end. Either they lose or win, they try until the last second".

Regarding Nikos Pappas' injury, Pedoulakis stated: "Red Star is not so good in the second line of defense and that's why Pappas had an excellent game in Belgrade. We can't speak about players that aren't going to play. I believe that the rest of the players will live up to the expectations without problem. The news about Pappas is that his injury is serious. Along with our doctor they will travel abroad and they will visit a specialist. He is a young player and his right elbow is very important! He will remain sidelined for at least 1,5 month. Maybe more!"

Regarding Loukas Mavrokefalidis and Stephane Lasme stated: "Loukas will be in the team tomorrow. He hasn't practice since the game against Ilissiakos, but his presence on the court may be limited. The same goes for Lasme. He will be in the team too. We must have energy on the court. Problems usually make the teams get closer... Players have understood that and they will be exactly where they must be".
