Diamantidis: One step closer to one more record

The word "Diamantidis" and "record" walk hand-hand for years now. The captain of Panathinaikos is getting ready for one more record at the game against EA7 Emporio Armani Milano in Italy on Thursday (27/2, 21.45).

Dimitris Diamantidis is just 2 points shy for his 2000 mark in his Euroleague career. He enters the game with 1998 points in 213 games. He will be just the 14th player in Euroleague history to reach that milestone and just the fifth still in action. Juan Carlos Navarro heads the list with 3387 points in 250 games.

Practice

Ramel Curry was the only player who didn't participate in today's practice. The Greens depart tomorrow at 08.20 from "Eleftherios Venizelos" airport to Milano.

Numbers

Dimitris Diamantidis leads the Turkish Airlines Euroleague this season with 7.5 assists per game, which is also the best mark of his distinguished career.

Diamantidis tied a Euroleague career high with 11 assists in leading Panathinaikos past EA7 Milan 73-57 in the Top 16 opener last month. Diamantidis needs 2 points to reach the 2,000-point milestone in his Euroleague career. He would become the 14th player to reach that mark and would be only the fifth active Euroleaguer on that list.

Stephane Lasme leads the Turkish Airlines Euroleague in fouls committed this season with 60 (3.8 fouls per game).
