Olympiacos Piraeus led from start to finish in downing its arch-rival Panathinaikos OPAP Athens 71-78 on the road in the Greek capital on Friday night.
Both teams now hold 1-1 records in the young Turkish Airlines EuroLeague season. Olympiacos opened a double-digit lead in the first quarter, and led by as many as 15 in the second. Panathinaikos started charging back late in the third, but the Reds never allowed the hosts closer than 4 points.
Georgios Printezis led the victory by scoring 17 points in 20 minutes. Shaquielle McKissic was the only other Olympiacos player in double figures with 10 points, while Ocatvius Ellis pulled down 13 rebounds. Marcus Foster paced Panathinaikos with 15 points, and Ioannis Papapetrou scored 14 in a losing effort.
